Who are we?

Community Rowing Club Sydney is a new rowing club in Sydney based currently on the shores of the Lane Cove River at Tambourine Bay Rd, Riverview.

We are a true ‘community club’ – Community Rowing Club was established to ensure that all members of the community would be able to have the opportunity to join the sport of rowing.  As such, we are open to all members from youth rowing to masters, and are proudly home to the largest para-rowing program in Australia.

In fact, Community Rowing Club was an initiative of the Balmain Para-Rowing Program Inc (BPRC).  BPRC was a support organisation founded to assist rowers with disabilities to get into the sport of rowing, but as we have grown, we have recognised the need for more opportunities for people from all backgrounds, and that programs such as the ones we offer should not exist in isolation, but be integrated into an entire ‘community’ of rowers, from all cross-sections of our community.

As such, Community Rowing Club seeks to be a community based Rowing Club designed to cater to ALL members of the Community – regardless of ability or background.

No matter where you fit in (and you will), we’re sure you’d enjoy it – come along, we can’t wait to see you!

Although we seem ‘new’, we’ve actually been around for over 10 years, as we have searched for a location in Sydney to establish this new club.  Our 3 founders also boast a combined 55 years of experience as rowers, coaches, and administrators of the sport, at both club and state level.
